To join Southwest Virtual Airlines visit the
join now page and complete the form. You should receive a reply to your application within 24 hours. If you do not please
contact us. Remember to check your junk email folder. When you first join SWVA you will be assigned to a hub. You do not have to fly flights out of your hub, you can fly any Southwest flights you like.
To get you on your way to your first flight with SWVA visit the
Fleet Page under the Pilot Center and download our Southwest aircraft. Once you have downloaded the aircraft go to the
Pilot Center and pick a flight to fly. Once you've found what flight you want to fly load up your flight simulator and fly that flight, make sure to record the departure and arrival times. Once you've finished that flight go to the
File a Flight Report Page under the Pilot Center and fill out the flight report with your Pilot ID# that you will receive when you join. A member of our staff will then review you flight report shortly and add it to the roster which can be viewed under the
Pilot Center.
The ranks we have here at SWVA are:
First Officer 0-20 hours
Captain 20-70 hours
Senior Captain 70-200 hours
Chief Pilot 200+ hours
You will be automatically promoted to the next rank upon reaching the required number of hours. However to obtain the rank of Chief Pilot you must pass a check ride administered by our staff and have the ability to fly on the
Vatsim network.
